Pate de Verre red glass art inspired by the heat and the crushing involved in mineral extraction. The way raw materials are re-constituted and re-heated.
Made with blended crushed frit glass the thin edge of this piece is hand cast in a mother mould with bound frit to give a colour gradient that reaches out to the rim.
Vibrantly coloured with explosive lava-hot edges that give the piece a detailed undulating edge reminiscent of the molten minerals themselves
